The Season Is Almost Here - Key Dates and Information

Excitement is building across the community as Welland Minor Baseball gears up for the upcoming 2026 house league season.

The association has officially closed registration, marking another strong year of participation. With all divisions now full, we are actively forming teams and finalizing schedules in preparation for the start of the 2026 season.

Families in the 4U to 7U divisions can expect to begin receiving team assignments and schedules during the second week of May. Communication for older divisions will align with key evaluation and start dates outlined below.

Division Start Dates and Key Information

• 4U: June 7 at 6:00 PM
• 5U: June 4 at 6:00 PM
• 7U: June 5 or 6 at 6:00 PM

For divisions requiring evaluations:

• 9U: May 11 and 12 (evaluations- Select Players - exempt). Practices will begin the following week once teams are formed.
• 11U: May 13 and 14 (evaluations- Select Players - exempt). Practices will begin the following week once teams are formed. 
• 13U: May 14 (evaluations- Select Players - exempt). Practices will begin the following week once teams are formed. 

For older divisions:

• 15U: Practices begin the week of May 18 (evaluations may be necessary - players will be contacted)
• 18U: Practices begin the week of May 18.

As families prepare for the season, players are encouraged to ensure they have the appropriate gear. The association’s “Equipment by Division” resource provides a breakdown of required items to help players get ready for opening day.

With teams taking shape and the first pitches just weeks away, Welland Minor Baseball is looking forward to another successful and enjoyable season on the diamonds.
